Summary | 0011526: Open attachment serverside and/or hyperlink a network drive file
Description | We are looking into using Mantis for a hyprid ECO process. We have two options, the first I do not believe is feasible from Mantis. Option # 1: Allow attachments to be opened server side instead of locally. IE. An updater goes into a report and updates an excel spreadsheet attachment. When saved, this will save back to a network directory instead of as a 40 character hashed file in the Mantis directory. This way, the next person who comes in to open the file sees person # 1's updates. Note: I would like to avoid having person 0000001 make their changes, then delete the old attachment and then finally uploading the revised attachment for the next person in line to make their changes. Option # 2: Hyperlink a network drive (windows server). I was playing around with Mantis and saw that we can incorporate HTML code within the description, notes etc... If option one is not available, it would be nice to hyperlink a certain drive (EX. \johnson\data\ECO). Hyperlinking in HTML (a href=http://) requires an actual URL. Is there any other way to link back to a directory or file through a hyperlink?
Additional Information | I apologize if there is a better process or forum to use than this. I've done a few google searches as well as a custom Mantis search without any luck on this issue.
