Summary	0022920: Additional characters display in Summary and Description of the ticket.
Description	When submitting a ticket that contains a single quote ('), double quote (") or black slash () in the Summary or description, a back slash appears next to each character. Editing the ticket does not help either, the problem still remains. I have not been able to resolve this issue and we need some sort of resolution as we are using code snippets in the ticket. I am using Mantis version 1.3.4, Schema version 209

saadhaq 2017-05-30 15:49 reporter ~0056993	This is the same issue, but I do not have access to the php.ini file on my Cpanel to change the directive magic_quotes_gpc from Off to On. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

atrol 2017-05-30 16:18 developer ~0056994	Magic Quotes has been DEPRECATED as of PHP 5.3.0 and REMOVED as of PHP 5.4.0. see http://www.php.net/manual/en/security.magicquotes.whynot.php Please understand that we will not change MantisBT because you are running a outdated PHP version which is no longer supported. but I do not have access to the php.ini file on my Cpanel to change the directive magic_quotes_gpc Sure? I do not use cPanel, but searched a bit the web and found that most provider offer a way to change such kind of settings. If not, ask your provider to change the setting.
