In lieu of implementing a voting feature (see 0000668), is it possible to add a variable $g_maximum_sponsorship_amount?
The existing sponsorship variables are documented at http://www.mantisbt.org/manual/manual.configuration.sponsorship.php.
This way users could 'vote' for an issue with some granularity of importance using a currency of beans or beers (my preference).
