Spambot Protections?

Post by Arthmoor »

I tried looking around to see what kind of prevention against spambot registrations exist, but haven't found anything.

We've been having a lot of trouble with another tracker package going ballistic with obvious bot registrations that have caused our outgoing mail setup to impose a daily quota for spamming.

What kind of systems does Mantis have in place to prevent bots from generating a ton of outgoing mail spam when "verifying" the accounts they never supply valid information for? Will it reject anything blacklist style? Captcha system? Some other method of prescreening to determine it's not a spambot before allowing the email to get sent?

Captcha, white lists and blacklists are possible.
Furthermore there are configuration options to limit user activities in a given time frame.
Please use Search before posting and read the Manual
