2.2.1: "Remember my login in this browser" not working

Post by gsutton »

On the login screen there is a "Remember my login in this browser" checkbox. When checked this doesn't remember the login. Is there a config setting anywhere for this.

As I said, I am not able to reproduce.
Maybe I don't understand what you mean.
You should provide detailed step by step instructions what you do, what you get and what you expect to get.

It seems you don't understand the purpose of "Remember my login in this browser".

If you enable the checkbox and login, you could close the browser.
Whenever you start the browser again to visit any page of your MantisBT installation, you will automatically be logged in and will not have to enter again your username and password.

Ah, I see. This works a bit differently to other sites then. I think in that case it works as expected. Thanks for explaining.

Can you give an example of what you mean with it?
Keep in mind that there is also some related functionality to store user names and/or passwords.
This is typically not done by the web application itself but a functionality of your browser.

Maybe we can offer a better wording for the MantisBT functionality to avoid this confusion.
Can you propose something, assuming you are a native English speaker (I am not).

I think if the checkbox text is changed to "Keep me logged in" then this will remove any confusion.

Here's an example from another site:
