Summary0008769: add a "clone to" button to notes in related projects
Description

I'd like to have one or more "clone to <project nr>" button on every note which belongs to a project which contains any relationship to another project.

So when my subcontractor solves the problem I can copy his note to the original project sent by my customer (would be ideal if the "clone to <project nr>" button in the note just opens the note entry view and with the note's text pasted in the note field so I still could modify it.

this could also be a solution for copying the attachments to a clone like reported in 0006414 (having a clone to button beside the attachments)

Some clarificaitions:

  1. By "project nr", I am assuming you mean "Issue".

  2. Would you like the cloned note to have the author as the person who did the cloning / editing?

  3. Maybe notes should have a cloned from field. This would allow us to show the fact that this note was cloned from note xyz in issue abc and the original author is lmn.

Interesting idea... I guess we will have to see the feedback on this one and how people like the details to work. Based on the feedback and whether a patch is provided we will consider this feature.

  1. yes, that should be Issue

  2. The author should be the one who does the cloning (otherwise it seems the original author would have done it which is actually incorrect) perhaps it coule be done like quote, so the author of the note is me, but the note reads 'somebody wrote: ....'

  3. This would be even better than a quotation because the note-text stays more readable.

I have used it in another company's installation but don't have the code (unfortunately) and I can tell it is really usefull.

Maybe they would be willing to contribute their code modifications :)
