I have also upgraded from 1.0.0rc2 to 1.0.2, but the included db upgrade script never worked for me. My solution was to:

1. Backup the database
2. Manually run the SQL commands for all 1.0.0 upgrades (I just looked at the upgrades/1_00_inc.php)
3. Uploaded new mantis code in a new folder on my web ...

Anyone knows if there are any database changes between 1.0.0rc2 and 1.0.1? The manual states that a upgrade guide is valid from 1.0.0 and above - is 1.0.0rc2 pre-1.0.0 or is it above?

Seems like your mail server (192.168.1.102) don't accept yor connection. Maybe you need a username and password for it? If you have, maybe it's the wrong username and password?

I'm running Mantis on MySQL 4.0.20-standard, and I'm having troubles upgrading the DB from 1.0.0rc2 to 1.0.1. The Upgrade list shows several DB updates from 0.17 and above, but none is applied when executing all.

It stops on: Add primary key on mantis_project_version_table (0.17-jf-9), with ...
