Re: Updating plugins wiki is needed

@Mushu - thanks for the note. There has been a lot of discussion about the plugins recently and we're trying to make that a much more visible and useful part of this ecosystem. Things are kinda in-flux now, but that's better than before. A new General Plugins board has been created here specifically...

Re: about Plugin-easy enter

It's good that you posted your inquiry on Github too. Perhaps the plugin author will respond. As I noted there, I would not open a .docx file, and I recommend no one else here open the attachment either. @kokerp - it would be much better if you posted the image elsewhere and then linked to it direct...

Re: JpGraph Library Plugin - Trial?

I want to try Ganttchart but need JpGraph to enable it, this needs a paid for version of mantis For the Mantis GanttChart Plugin , I believe you meant to say that Gantt charts in JpGraph require a license? If you need a trial of that I believe you'd need to ask the JpGraph people. With FOSS, trials...

Re: SQL Server 2016 and Mantis 2.14

It's a new world with this stuff. You're running Mantis over Windows accessing SQL Server over Windows. At some point I'm sure we'll see questions about the other combinations: Mantis over Linux accessing SQL Server over Linux Mantis over Linux accessing SQL Server over Windows Mantis over Windows a...

Re: Plugin OAuth 2.0 off

HI! I recommend you check the open Issues on the Github project for this plugin . It seems there are a few reports like yours. If your issue is new or different, create a new issue. That GoogleOauth plugin is the one we're talking about here, right? There were recent updates, so it seems this plugin...

mention @names, add to monitor list?

If we Mention a tracker user as @name, they get an email for that reference. But they are not auto-added to the list of users Monitoring the issue. Is there a setting to cause this to happen? (I checked the docs and found no such setting, and check the tracker but found no similar request.) Example ...

Re: FAQs on Changing UI Text

My intent wasn't to be negative. I look at the MantisBT tracker and see that there are items that were opened years ago that are still "new", not even acknowledged. That's extremely discouraging. I've been involved with other projects where contributions were welcome, but then PRs were rejected for ...

Re: FAQs on Changing UI Text

On one hand, I agree with the approach of versioning this info into the installation. On the other hand, wikis and other documentation repositories exist for many reasons, where using the software repository is not desirable. The kind of content I'm talking about is more like a tutorial to respond t...

Re: How to cater for GDPR?

The GDPR allows for server logs to be kept for security and administration purposes. Our responsibility to end users is to advise them of exactly what data is being saved and why. It's the user's responsibility to decide if they want to continue using our services with the information we have provid...

Re: FAQs on Changing UI Text

Wow. I think a plugin might be too ambitious for this one. I'll come back to the idea that it might be best if we have a FAQ for updating the UI as it is. I'd hate to have to wait another 14 years for the discussion in that ticket to progress about changing the existing mechanisms. ;) Unfortunately ...

Plugin to report on sent emails?

Before I write something new, I'm checking to see if this already exists. I'm sometimes not sure if an email is sent to a user based on current details. We need to keep email logging on at all times ( LOG_EMAIL_RECIPIENT ) so that I can check the log to see what was queued. The log data is available...

Re: FAQs on Changing UI Text

Isn't this the concept of Mantis custom functions? Yes it is but I'm suggesting more extensive usage of that concept with a focus on the UI. As per the example in my last note, custom functions are not currently used in the core for the UI - the UI is hard-coded in-line. That's certainly not a prob...
