email notifications not getting through

Hi,

I have just installed MantisBT 2.9.0-0074 on my Synology NAS server DS213+. I have created two users but, cannot login as passwords are unknown :(, none of the email notifications are getting through. Do I have to enter an email server address anywhere in order to send notifications to users?

Why can't the administrator manually reset the password for a user and then force the user to change it on login?

Quite outdated, I recommend to install latest 2.15.0

He can, but Mantis must be able to send e-mail for that.

You could disable e-mail notifications.
After that, you can create users with an empty password.

As an administrator, there is a button to impersonate other users, where you could set a temporary password.
