Bug not appearing in issue list

Hi,
I've just installed Mantis on LAMP (after deciding it was the best option of all the other trackers out there) however I've run into a strange problem.
For testing I raised a couple of bugs and everything looked to be fine. I logged out and back in again and they's disappeared from the View Issues
list however they remained clickable up in the recently visited list. So I think it might be the filters but I'm stumped which one as they look ok to me.
I also made sure the records actually exist. Any ideas greatly appreciated!
