marketing versus engineer

Post by conflla »

Hi

Is it possible to mix the advice of two users about solving a bug with Mantis? Something like the Engineering Manager says it's a high priority bug and the Marketing director says "No!!! its a low priority..." so we should manage the bug as a normal priority task.

There is no automated way to do this. Do you have a certain concept in mind in terms of exact steps?

using Mantis in your organisation

Hi,

My point is How do you use Mantis in your organisation? Who receives the bug in your organisation and enter it in the database? Who is responsible for setting priority and to solve what and when?

thank you,

There have been some related questions in past.

IMHO, Mantis is the tracker of issues, not the fixer. In my organization, issues were entered by whomever found or heard of them. A periodic management meeting (engineering and marketing) was held to review the more complex issues and establish a timeline to fix them (or not). The results of the meeting and issue assignment were captured in Mantis during/after that meeting.
