Prepared repeatable multi tasks

Post by matty2470 »

I am thinking of setting up Mantis for some of my associates

Using mantis as a way of organising engineering projects, not really a bug tracker

I analyse the procedure of the companies and feel that it would be useful to be able to

1. start a new project
2. define a list of tasks, which are repeatable
3. Save them
4. Be able to set up the same list of predefined tass over and over

For example, if this is not clear

I have a shipping asociate. Every ship that arrives to port (new project)

will go through same process

1. ship arrives
2. inspection
3. clearance
etc
etc

it woul nice to be able to set up this list of tasks. can it already be done did I miss something?

Thanks

What you can do is to create a project (call it ShippingTemplate), then with every new shipment you create a specific project and copy all tasks from the Shipping Template to the new project. You will also need to copy the categories and version.

The other option is to develop a custom solution around MantisConnect, to give it a project name and it does the rest for you. They will require a bit of customisation, but it can save time and reduce confusions. For more details about MantisConnect see http://www.futureware.biz/mantisconnect.
