Plugins not working mantisbt-1.2.12

I've been trying to install new plugins and have come across some that do no seem to work, though they are supposed to work with mantisbt-1.2.12.
Other than putting the files into the plugins dir, is there anything else special that needs to be done??

Goto page Manage > Manage Plugins
You should see a list of your plugins, some of them with a link to install the plugin.

I understand that i need to go there to install the packages, but they do not appear in the list
