mantis had become slow

Post by hussain92 »

we have been using mantis in our organization from last couple of years and slowly over time data has grown up , almost 12000k bugs/entries have been entered and sql has a data size of 14GB so when ever we add note or click other pages or search for bugs/tracking id it takes a lot of time to pull details, pls suggest if any other way to make little faster/quicker.

Thank u

You mean 12,000,000?

It's hard to tell anything without some more information, e.g.

- What means "long", 1 second, 5 seconds ...?
- When started it to become slow ?
- What's the output of http://<yourMantisURL>/admin/db_stats.php ?
- used hardware, CPU, disks, memory
- Exact version of MantisBT, PHP, Database, Web server, Browser and Operating System
- Relevant customizations (e.g. changes in config_inc.php, etc)
- Installed plugins or custom functions ?
- Was the MantisBT source code modified in any way ?

12000 issues should be no problem, e.g. there are more than 16000 at www.mantisbt.org/bugs

admin.tar.gz? tar.gz? I didn't tell anything about tar.gz
Independant from that, the admin folder might have been removed.
You could restore it from this download https://sourceforge.net/projects/mantis ... le/1.2.19/

As a side note, keep in mind that Mantis-1.2.19 and Windows Server 2003 are complete outdated, full of known security issues and no longer supported.

As a first step I recommend to run optimize table on all tables of your Mantis database

How to upgrade https://www.mantisbt.org/docs/master/en ... ll.upgrade

But keep in mind that there are some minimum requirements to run Mantis 2.x, e.g. PHP minimum version is 5.5.x, 7.x is recommended.
