Adding the the "Description" column to View Issues

I would like to be able to add a column for the Description field to the View Issues page. I have read an article on customizung the view thru Manager Configuartions page but Description is not an available field. Is there a workaround to allow this?

This does not work in 1.2.x anymore.
Fatal error: Cannot use object of type BugData as array in /var/www/mantis120/custom_functions_inc.php on line 50
How can i fix it?
