Mantis Best Practice - Capturing Customer/Client Name

Post by mkalsi »

Hi,
I am new to Mantis and I am trying to figurre out how to setup Mantis for my company. We get issues and customization requests from our clients and I can't see any place in Mantis to capture client information. I am sure it's very common scenario for Mantis users. Could anyone help with the best practice recommendation in this area?

I explored the "Profiles" but it really does not fit because it's more suitable to provide details about the product than client (Product/OS/Version).
I also thought about custom field but I am told that there is no ability to query on the custom fields out of the box.

How do Mantis admins handle this? I would appreciate any help!

Thanks,

MK

Would recommend creating a custom field as either text or list - list is better as it gets around the spelling issue but needs to be maintained
