Newbie Question with GoDaddy Install
I have used GoDaddy's automagic install for mantis on my shared hosting account. I have placed it on a sub-domain issue.mydomain.com. I have installed Mantis v1.1.8. Everything seems to be working fine for the admin account - however when a user creates an account no verification emails are sent out ... also, when admin creates an account no emails are sent out. Is there something I need to configure with the GoDaddy automatic install? I am more of a designer and only know enough php etc. to be dangerous. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Newbie Question with GoDaddy Install
Did you ever got your issue resolved? I'm having the same problem ...
Re: Newbie Question with GoDaddy Install
I don't know what is "GoDaddy's automagic install"
If this is a development of GoDaddy and not the installer which is provided with MantisBT you better contact GoDaddy support

Re: Newbie Question with GoDaddy Install
You can check out the first sticky issue on the HELP forum, thats about how to send emails.
Re: Newbie Question with GoDaddy Install
I am having the same issue. I went through all of the steps in the email sticky but was not successful.
Is there support (paid or not) for mantis or is the blind leading the blind?
Step up Mantis people!

Of course you have to tell more than "I am having the same issue" to get help
Re: Newbie Question with GoDaddy Install
There isn't that much to tell. I have mantis 1.1.8 installed on a Go Daddy server. I am getting no email delivery even after trying ALL of the steps on the email sticky.
Re: Newbie Question with GoDaddy Install
Why did you install this outdated version?czydrm wrote:I have mantis 1.1.8 installed
There are different offers from this provider. The interesting information to search for problems is not the provider, but things like operating system, PHP version, database, ....czydrm wrote: on a Go Daddy server.
The email sticky tells how to use gmail to sent emails via SMTP. This is just en example. I am quite sure that your provider offers another method to sent mail.czydrm wrote: I am getting no email delivery even after trying ALL of the steps on the email sticky.
Re: Newbie Question with GoDaddy Install
I installed 1.1.8 because that's what I had previously. I wanted to make sure I had everything running on the new server before updating since your update process seems anything but smooth or easy.
The server details...
linux
php 5.x
mysql 5.0
I assume that your software is supposed to send email using PHP and that the SMTP is an alternate method to use IF PHP doesn't work. Since PHP didn't work I tried gmail because that's what you gave directions for. It seems it would be easier to follow your format and get that to work before trying something else. The point you seem to be missing is that even using gmail it STILL does not send any email. Let's focus on that problem!
Thanks in advance.

Re: Newbie Question with GoDaddy Install
IMO it's quite easy. Download version 1.2.4 and read file doc/INSTALL chapter UPGRADING.czydrm wrote:since your update process seems anything but smooth or easy.
The example configuration of the sticky issue is written to work with version 1.2.x of MantisBT
There are configuration options used which are not available in version 1.1.x, for example $g_smtp_connection_mode
Re: Newbie Question with GoDaddy Install
Fine, since you seem to not be able or willing to help with the email delivery for 1.1.8 would you please provide upgrade instructions?
Re: Newbie Question with GoDaddy Install
You can try also the other available support channels http://www.mantisbt.org/support.php , maybe there is another user listening who is using GoDaddy and SMTP with version 1.1.xczydrm wrote:Fine, since you seem to not be able or willing to help with the email delivery for 1.1.8
But why not install a new empty 1.2.x test installation and try if email works?
Still the same: Download version 1.2.4 and read file doc/INSTALL chapter UPGRADING.czydrm wrote: would you please provide upgrade instructions?
