A Mantis 1.2 Plugin Question (Login)

I've got a question to the new plugin system in Mantis 1.2.

Will it be possible to write an own authentification plugin for mantis with this new plugin api, so that later updates can be installed without (any problems?

Or is this impossible?

Hi know it exists a swekey plugin (http://www.swekey.com/), so it seems possible to write a plugin for authentication
