Upgrading from 1.1.6 -> 1.2.1, check.php "Config File BAD"

Greetings,

just did an upgrade from 1.1.6 to 1.2.1. Following doc/INSTALL, step 3 says
* Point your browser to http://path/to/mantisbt/admin/check.php to ensure that
your webserver is compatible with MantisBT and configured correctly
However, admin/check.php didn't tell me anything about my webserver compatibility or whether it's configured correctly, but simply told me that it couldn't find my Mantis config file (BAD).
Checking your installation
Checking Config File Exists BAD
Please use install.php to perform initial installation Click here
I guess, this is to be expected (the remainder of the upgrade went smoothly after copying config_inc.php and running admin/install.php)? If so, could someone re-phrase the upgrade instructions or the check.php output (prepend "Webserver seems to function properly", hint towards possible upgrade steps) to reduce possible confusion?

Sebastian
