i don't want the bug id auto generated in sequence, i want to type and input bug id by admin.
because i got an old version of buglist in excel sheet, the excel sheet bug id will be master, then i will just input those critical bugs into mantis one by one.
but i want the mantis bud id same as excel sheet bug id.
how to make the bug id can be customised?

example:
i create new issue, then a field allow me to enter bug id "0057"...

Of course this is possible but not with just some customization

Maybe you should just use a custom field to enter the ID's from your Excel sheet.

we are not allow to change the excel sheet format, ans now i;m using mantis as bugs database only, I do not need thos assign,re-assign, follow up function.
I just want to store bug description and my test result in mantis corresponding the excel bug id, simple, so those concerns raised by them are not applicable to me.

I still don't have another idea than using a custom text field for it.
Is there any reason why you don't want to use this?

i just worry other may confusing whern they see the bug id at mantis and referring wrong bug id when reporting

how to install the plugin?
what file to modified in order to run it?

Copy complete directy CustomID under MantisBT directory plugins.
Login to MantisBt as an administrator, choose "Mangage" -> "Manag Plugins"
Click on "Install" in column "Actions" where the plugib is listed

i cannot find where to download the plugin...
the page doesn't show me anything...once i clicked, it show me the codes...i need to copy manually to notepad and save as???

Click on "snapshot" at "shortlog" in first line to get the latest version

i just install the plugin, but after update configuration with prefix, my ID has only prefix, no increment, all ID are same now

i'm new membership of this forum and i'm using Mantis bug tracker 1.2.17 in wampserver
i want to customise my bug id and i cannot do it in the right time if you can help me to do this i will be greatful
