guest email on update

Hello,
I have set up MantisBT 1.2.3 with a guest account and it works fine I was wondering is there a way to have the guest optionally enter their e-mail to receive updates when the bug has been change. This is probably gonna need to be done via a plugin.
Thanks,
Brooke

I don't understand the need for this.
What is the difference between a guest account with email address and a "normal" account with email address?
Typically guest accounts are used from more than one person. It would make no sense to sent email to all users if one of them enters issues.

The idea would be to allow the person to created the issue to enter an e-mail at the time it was being created then they would receive updates on the blog. To clarify, instead of one e-mail per account (in this case the guest account) have an optional one e-mail per issue. I suppose users who really care about getting updates on their issue could always sign up for an account though.

Now I understand.
If you offer such kind of reporting you might get a lot of spam. I wouldn't offer it without captchas.

Yeah I also saw an Akismet plugin for Mantis that may also cut down on spam. Right now we're not getting enough traffic to have to worry about it. I just thought it would be nice for guest posters to be able to get feedback on their bugs without the need to create an account.

Hope that no spambot will find you. This forum would be a complete mess if there was not the rule that the first messages of a new user have to be accepted by a moderator. For example today there were about 120 spam messages.
