hey Demo is very nice but actually I am looking for sth what is really in use. I have to prove my bos that this program is really workin and is being used by plenty of companies.

For starters, I'd do a search for "2000 - 2006 Mantis Group". That's part of the copyright string at the bottom of the pages and so you'll find a fair amount of sites that are using Mantis unchanged.

I'm actually surprised at the number of open source applications that are using Mantis as their bug tracker. A lot of the time I just happen to come across them but I don't keep track of them at all.

There is a directory of users at http://mantisbugtracker.com/directory.php . Note, though, that that list only has those people that have asked to be put on the list. I know of 4 large companies that I have personally installed Mantis for that are not on that list. Unfortunately, I can't tell you, either :)

Remember, though, that even searching for 'known strings' on the pages won't help that much: a lot of the installations are on intranets and so never see the light of day as far as the rest of the internet is concerned!

Add these numbers together + another number for all installations that were not updated since 2004 (there is a lot of these!).

Uh yes and do not forget to double the number since most companies only use mantis on the intranet, not the internet... :)

we use mantis internally for our team of about 10 internal & external developers. Another 10 people report bugs into it.

We run mantis straight out of the box, with no customizations. We have never had a problem with mantis and it has almost all of the features we need. We currently have about 5k issues in the system and it has scaled so far.

We use it in all of our projects now as a requirement. That means that we've used it in about 25 projects over the last couple of years ranging from 2 to 15 developers.

Everyone we work with (clients, subcontractors) ends up using it in their operations after they got used to using ours.

I'm using Mantis as a basis for our support/helpdesk system. I'm cutting off
many of the features, as we need much more simpler system.
