Mantis Bug Tracker - Forums

Hallo
Even I'm not professional programmer (or even amateur) I was able to implement mantis very easily (it worked out immediately)!!! So very good job Mantis Team!!!

I've read a lot about why mantis is better than the others (like well know bugzilla) but can anyone point me a few exact features where Mantis beats all others?
I WILL BE VERY THANKFUL.

Thanks for the nice feedback. It's great to hear such pleasant experiences. We work on Mantis because we enjoy doing it and enjoying getting such feedback. That doesn't mean you guys can't make donations

Most people mention the power and simplicity of installation and use as the main killer features of Mantis. Most of the comparisons available compare on very basic features and hence it is very difficult to compare on a list like the one in the list above.

another plus for Mantis, for me, just off the top of my head is that I find it very easy to modify [not that I really find myself needing to do it that often]

When I tried to do the similar things in Bugzilla [such as adding new defect states] I found it very rigid and difficult to customize -- but to be fair that was a few years ago; they may have improved that -- anyone feel free to correct me on that particular point.

Mantis out of the box was about 90% + of what we needed, and the remaining 10% will be addressed in future releases [i.e. already in 1.1x ] or we can implement ourselves.

Now, when it comes time to integrate our defect tracker with our version control system, I may be singing a different tune ;-D

but for now I"m with Lukasz -- Yay Mantis.
