Default value for custom field per user

Hi
I'm relatively new to Mantis, and am just struggling to find an answer to the following. I have setup a custom field of type "Enumeration", which is to record the department of the person submitting a ticket - is there any way that I can store/set the default value of this per user when they submit a new ticket? Any advice would be very much appreciated.
