Update from 1.0.6 to 1.1.0a3

Hi,
I submitted a feature request for mantis and I saw this feature has been implemented in mantis 1.1.0a3.
First, do you think it is a good idea for me, in a production environment, to update my 1.0.6 to 1.1.0a3, or should I wait for the released version of 1.1.0?
Second, is there an easy way to update mantis to 1.1.0a3?
