how can i add " Department " when i create a new user .

when creating a new user , the inputs are quite simple , the name , real name, password.... i need to implement a new field " department " , so i checked the source code and i'm lost there . any help ??
as you can see in the screenshot , i can assign a department to a user when creating it , but i can't vizualize it in the manage_user_edit_page.php , so i can for modify it or check his department . maybe i can check the source code and create a " department " somewhere ??
