We have used this plugin (v0.10.1) on same hosting place for several years without any hassle. Today it stopped working, completely out of the blue, without any in-depth details. Same error for both POP (which we have been using) and IMAP (after I switched to test). I turned on debug-info to see if I could get any clues that way, but no.

I tested the mail-server using Thunderbird and it works fine for both POP/IMAP.

How can I track down the root cause for this?

Update: 24 hours later the problem is gone and EmailReporting can read mails again.

I have no idea about the root cause but obviously the plugin was not at fault.

Good to hear. Keep in mind that for the newer MantisBT versions that EmailReporting 0.11.0-DEV is required for everything to work properly.
