Notification Emails not being sent

Hi I have just installed mantis and when I add a call to the database I am not getting any emails sent out. I tested the email under the admin tools and when new users are added the emails are sent. Only when new calls are added there is no email sent. Is there something that I should check?

By default, messages are only sent to the originator, or handler of the issue. If you look at the Manage -> Manage Configuration -> Email Notifications page, you can add additional access levels for each type of message.
