assign a task to several people?

Hello,
Mantis seems to be the kind of software I need for my team. But before to install it, I just would like to know if it is possible to assign a task to several persons.
And I would like that, everytime someone update (or add a comment) to a task, everyone receive an email decribing what happened.
Is Mantis the right tool for me?
Thanks,
Ajor

Assigning a task to several people?
AFAIK with Mantis it's not possible to to that.
With Mantis many people can monitor an issue, so everyone who is interested will be informed when something is changed.
Can you give an example where it is a good idea to assign more than one person?
If you assign more than one, no one knows who is responsible to do the next step.

The thing is that usually we assign a task to one person, but two or three other would be interested in following the discussion, add a comment, etc...
So it is the same as if we assign the task to several persons.

In this case I would use the Mantis functionality to "Send a reminder" to the people, where I think that they might be interested in the topic.
After that, these people can decide by their own, whether they are interested and if yes, they can use the "Monitoring" functionality in Mantis to be notified by mail on any changes

And will these people be able to add some comments?

Yes, they can add comments
Think it's time for you to install Mantis and just play with it.
This gives you a better understanding of Mantis and will help you much better to decide whether Mantis is the right system for you.
