I have a lot of different projects within mantis and I am getting feedback from users that it is a pain to have to go to mantis and then remember to switch to the right project.

Is there some way to post a link to the bug tracking view page for a particular project by specifying the projectID in the URL ?

Yes, use project_id=id.
