Problem creating users/logging in with wrong password

Hi,
I'm testing mantis 1.1.8 on a clean wampserver. Everything seems to be fine, except i'm not able to successfully add users. I create a user, an e-mail is sent to the user, but when he clicks on the link the e-mail and sets his password nothing happens. It seems like the browser is stuck, no result page is shown or whatsoever.
Same thing happens when I try to login as administrator with a wrong password. Then nothing happens too, it seems like the browser is stuck and I have to close all open explorer-windows and then I'm able to login again as administrator.
Hope anyone knows how to fix this or what is happening.

Not sure what you meant here, but you triggered me
Apparently I only set the smtp settings in the config_inc.php of mantis but didn't change the settings in the php.ini of PHP itself. Funny that sending the emails did work actually....
So updating the php.ini solved the problem!

Well, I was a bit too soon. I keep getting problems when someone logs in with a wrong password. In that case the page just keeps hanging and nothing happens. I have to close the browser to be able to login again with the right password.
Anyone an idea what's happening?

I have the same problem with Kire. And I also set smtp settings both in the config_inc.php and in php.ini of PHP.
Who can help me to fix this?

Yes, I get mail from Mantis. I can't set password by click on the link on email. And the same thins happens when I change the password .
