Addtional View Status

Is it possible to add more View Status options?
Now it is only possible to use public and private, but I want some more.
Can this be done? Or is there an howto?

AFAIK this would be a lot of code tweaking
Could you give an example for an use case where you need this?
Maybe there is another solution for it.

The reason I want to do this is to make some bugs available for certain groups so others can't see them.
For instance:
1. reporters can't see bugs reported by a developer or others, only their group.
2. administrator /manager may see all bugs
I would prefer some group membership security or something like that.
You may see it as an extra security.
Hope I explained it a bit more clearly.

I still see not the reason to have this.
Reporters are not able to see issues which are reported by a developer and set to private, but administrators and managers can.
Where is the difference between your "group membership security" and the role based security of MantisBT?
group = role in a specific project with assigned users
