Summary by space of time

Is there a possiblity to restrict the analysis to a given space of time, e.g.
- last xx days
- from mm.dd.yyyy - mm.dd.yyyy
Another interesting thing could be sort of break-point to be set if new parts or acitivities are about to start in a project. This timestamp gets a name (new release whatever" and can be chosen as startpoint for a summary as well.
