This is a quick cleanup of the admin_check script. I'm going to continue cleaning up the admin area a bit and then start playing some more with the database upgrade stuff.

• admin/admin_check.php
  • use g_skip_open_db instead of f_skip_open_db
  • require all of the core files using @ to prevent warnings about
    language files, since the database connection is not being made
  • remove password check feature - it doesn't work for CRYPT modes
    because they generate a new password every time unless you give
    them the salt from the original password. In this context the
    feature didn't seem very useful
  • use gpc_api to get cgi variables
  • remove unused CSS styles
  • use databaseapi functions to test db functionality instead of
    mysql* functions
  • include database port when checking
  • use substr() to get the last character of the path
  • use config_api to get config variables
  • use ini_get_bool() to get boolean php ini variables
  • check our file upload flag as well as php's
  • use $_SERVER to get at PHP_SELF
