Summary0013134: underlinded text on hover in opera
Description

Hello,

We have made some CSS changes to Mantis and noticed if we add a hover effect to links (a:hover), that it breaks the look in the Opera browser. The entire bug notes and users monitoring boxes get underlined if you hover over them.

This appears to be due to the contents of those boxes being inside the a html tag.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Add this to css:
    a:hover {text-decoration: underline;}

  2. View bug in the Opera browser.

TagsNo tags attached.

What would you say the bug is here? If you add some customisations to the CSS of MantisBT then the responsibility is yours to ensure it is correct.

The bug is the improper usage of <a> as a block level element when its a inline element.
XHTML transitional extends HTML 4. HTML 4 according to its dtd defines <a> as a inline element. http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/struct/links.html#edef-A

I am suggesting in future versions that this be changed to use proper html markup, such as a div.
