Summary | 0007972: Show reporter in list instead of handler for some states (config option)
Description | I guess this is a controversial suggestion... but it would really help for real world scenarios. Currently the handler is assumed to be the person who has to do something in mantis. Because mantis sends emails to handler, reporter etc you are not forced to strictly confirm hereby. I think this is the reason why mantis fits so many people's needs. This is great. I use bug states like this:
If a bug is in a state like "feedback" and "to accept" the reporter has to something (give feedback, accept the solution, perhaps re-assign the issue). It does not make sense to me to change the handler for this states. This would lose the handler information in most practical scenarios (the reporter would change from "to accept" to "resolved" without changing the handler back). I don't request that all reports etc. should change so that the the states are handled differently regarding responsibility. But it would be nice to change at least the list of view_all_bug_page.php so that the handler is shown instead of the reporter for specific states. I think this is a minor change. It would be nice to allow filtering for bugs "where I am responsible" or "where person xxx is responsible". But this is nice to have. This can already be done by creating two filters: "handled by me and state in (new,assigned,...)" and "reported by me and state in (feedback,to accept)".
