Hi,
first i want to say that i think that its completely stupid to use php.ini for two mail settings, smtp server and port. Perhaps i want to use a different smtp server for mantis, but setting it in the php.ini is vhost wide. Yeah, i could set these both vars on the fly but thats not what i want ...

Hi,
i use:
Debian Etch
Apache
PHP5
Mantis 1.1.8
PHPmailer
PHPmailer doesn't show any error but i cannot send emails through mantis. Do i need sendmail installed while building php in order to activate the mail module in php which configurations settings are read by Mantis? Perhaps these settings ...

PHPmailer is correctly installed but no mails are sent. I dont know if PHPmailer connects to the external smtp server or not but since no emails are sent i guess it doesnt and just fakes the error messages about "authorize failed".
