I wasn't aware you could create an own group called "Contractors" , at least I don't see that group in my Mantis 1.1.0a2 version
Can you point me to the FAQ/Wiki on that?

"view OWN private bugs" privilege
Hi,
thanks, I'm struggeling with this too
my goal is to have a set of (external) developers,
and to only allow them see THEIR bugs assigned
So I would set all bugs to private,
but if I set the "private" level to DEVELOPER, then
all developers could see ALL bugs
I need something like an "view ...

troublesome - but working
ok - finally got it
1. view bug in simple mode
2. click view advanced - see target version still empty
3. click update => FIELD IS GONE
4. have to extra-click update ADVANCED to see the field
IMHO if I'm on advanced view and click update it's obvious I need to get to upd advanced, not the simple ...

gave me the idea to use the custom_ prefix
so I specified 'custom_batch_name' instead of 'batch_name'
ie
array (
0 => 'selection',
1 => 'edit',
2 => 'priority',
3 => 'id',
4 ...

However I need a "private" flag for a couple of bugs are private to reporter/admin/handler only
