And don't forget that we have the Manual too... with a forum in it!
I agree there is a bit of information overload...
sometimes it is hard to tell where to look for an answer... I am not sure whether one medium is any faster than another for getting responses.
Generally, I think there are more ...

I like Mantis very much but I believe that we could improve our efforts using only one forums or wiki or mailing lists...

Yes,
it works... install freetds, compile php with freetds !
And I use ip&port instead of hostname
$g_hostname ='ip:port';
