Perry,
You could probably make the argument that all of these applications (Joomla, Mantis, Forums, etc) should have a hook into alternative authentication systems. Personally, I'd love to see LDAP be a common denominator, since it will plug into Netware NDS, MS AD, RH Directory Services, etc.
Further discussion along these lines should probably be moved to a new thread...

And as luck would have it... I search the forums for LDAP and came up with a link to show you how....
http://mantisbt.org/forums/viewtopic.ph ... LDAP#p7148
And LDAP for Joomla is here: http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/
Lucky us

Which parts are not working? Is mantis working on it's own?

Hi Perry,
I'm also trying to get this thing to work and I'm having some issues with it. When I'm in Mantis, it is always show the user as "anonymous" even though I am logged into Joomla.
What version of Joomla are you running?

As far as making this a component to easily install, you can take a look at this component page: http://joomlaequipment.com/content/view/48/79/
I haven't used it, but it has the ability to add extra fields to a user's name. Unfortunately it costs $28 and isn't open source.

Re: Mantis/Joomla! integration
Mantis is working and Joomla is working on their own. I wrapped Mantis in Joomla but now users must login twice if they want to use both systems, and I have to make users in both applications (user registration is disabled, I register users).perryclark wrote:Which parts are not working? when I install this old bridge I get an error on install, and in Component list, when I go on Mantis, the fields that I have to fill in are already filled with some nonsence data.
when i finally make this component work, every user that hasn't admin rights is logged in as anonymous.
Re: Mantis/Joomla! integration
zvijerka,
I got Joomla 1.0.13 to work with Mantis 1.1.1. Just follow the instructions completely and make sure you use the component in your menu. When I first set it up, I had created a link to a wrapper as a menu item in mantis, but this obviously didn't set up the proper login credentials from joomla so it was always logging in as anonymous. If you set it up correctly, Joomla loads component & sends username to mambo_mantis.php, then mambo_mantis.php checks if that user exists and if not, it loads password from the joomla users table and creates a new user.

Re: Mantis/Joomla! integration
now I can't download this bridge anymore. can someone reupload it somewhere please??

Re: Mantis/Joomla! integration
Its still available on the site. Go to http://www.nuy.info, click on Weblinks -> Downloads. Click Anonymous Access (below the 2 login fields) and then go to PHP-dev>Joomla>mantis>joomla_mambo_mantis.zipzvijerka wrote:now I can't download this bridge anymore. can someone reupload it somewhere please??

Re: Mantis/Joomla! integration
Is there a bridge for mantis and Joomla 1.5 ?
The details in this thread are for Joomla 1.0.
Thanks much.

is anyone able to create this. the old one works but not so good. mantis realname field is filled with joomla username and i can't get config to work in joomla backend, i have to change it manually, i can't make this user level work on 1.5.x and other things.
both of apps (joomla and mantis) are great and i would like it to work together...
thanks in advance!
Re: Mantis/Joomla! integration
I'm interested in a joomla 1.5 solution too. And I guess & hope there are some more 1.5 users more out there (joomla 1.0x is quite old, isn't it?)
thx!

thx!

Re: Mantis/Joomla! integration
If there are any programmers out here, I'd be interested in funding a project for the bridge.
Let me know..
Thanks
