How to search on "common words" ?

Hi,

I have a problem with "default value for custom field and filter" but all the words are too common ... How can I solve my problem ?

My originla problem is:
I have an enumeration custom field defined with a default value but not required at any step (report, update, ...). I cannot make a filter on issue with no explicit value (wich is in fact the default one) because ther is no data in the table.
