New to Mantis - Not able to login

Post by sandeepkashyap »

I have just installed mantis bugtracker. But I am not able to login the system. There is only one user in the database i.e. administrator. Please help me.

You must create a new account for yourself. You admin must activate this, then you should become a mail and use it until you visit the
link... I hope you understand, what I mean.

I'm having the same problem... It took me forever to finally get it to install.. kept getting an error until I made the admin username (used to create database) and admin password (used to create database) be the same as my database user and pass.... which is just craziness!! But that worked.. and now it's installed.. but now how do I sign in as an admin?? 8O

Try:
username: administrator
password: root

What I finally ended up doing was:

Create a new user for your admin account...

Then go to the database.. find where it stores the users... and in that string of text and numbers.. there is a 25... change that to 90 on the account you just created to change it to admin permissions.

This worked for me.. but it's still crazy that I had to do that!

go to Manage
Create new user witha access level = administrator

Yeah.. it would have been.. if I could have figured out how to log in as an administrator. I did this fix for it before you posted your reply with a password of root.

I'm also newbie in Mantis and have same problem. I can not log in as administrator. Ok, i know password is root, but it does not work. It still say account locked out blablabla... Sentence may not be exact while I use Latvian interface. I try to make new account. I can do that. I got mail and can log in but it does not have admin privileges. On statistics I see, that there are two users registered and i assume that there are administrator and my account. But I want to know, how to set / reset administrator password.
If that can be made vis mysql commands, then please give full syntax while i do not know how to mess with mysql.

I run Mantis 1.1.1 on Novell Enterprise Linux Server 10 SP1 with php 5.1.2.

Thank You.

I went to the login page, registered a new user, then logged in as user:administrator; pass:root; set my just-created account to 'admin' level, and de-activated administrator login.
