I'm getting ready to install Mantis and would like to know a couple of things. I will be doing a clean install of PHP and Mantis and using IIS and MS SQL Server (both already installed and configured).
Does Mantis 1.1.1 work with PHP 5.2.6 or does it require PHP 4.4.8?
How stable is Mantis 1.2.0a1?
I would like to avoid the need to upgrade PHP and/or Mantis in the near future.
Thanks
Curtis

Re: New Install options
I am also strugging with this.
I have just upgraded my webhosting package and have been put on a new server. What I didnt realise when I did this is that this is a MS Windows platform without MySQL where my previous one was Linux.
The web host has offered to change me to a Linux server but I don't want to go through the pain of lost emails and website downtime again unless I really have to.
I previously had MANTIS 1.0.8 working successfully but I cannot work out how to set it up to work with MS SQL. I have read that I probably need to set up an ODBC driver but I am not sure how to do this.
Are there any step-by-step instructions how to do this?

Re: New Install options
Peter, I remember that to install Mantis with MS SQL, you have to include the server \ instance name. However, I haven't did this for a long time. I would suggest you ask this question to "paulr" on the IRC channel:
http://www.mantisbt.org/irc.php
Mantis 1.1.x works with PHP 4.4.8 and PHP 5.2.6. This is the stable branch. If you don't want to upgrade often then I would go with this. Note that Mantis 1.1.2 should be out in the next couple of weeks. However, upgrading from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 should be trivial.
Mantis 1.2.0a1 is alpha quality, not recommended if you are not a PHP dev or not interesting in upgrading often.
