How to use custom field 'email'

Hi,

i have added some new fields to the bug_report_page. One is the email address of the reporter. So far so good...
But: I now want to gerenate an email to this address when the reporter reports a new bug. Idid not find any answer to this problem in the manual. The system is 'open' - no email adress is nessessary to login, so I need this custom field to send a feedback to the user. How can I manage this? Is it necessary to write a new function in the custom_functions_inc.php?
