Although the manual reads "For installiion, an administrative user/password pair CAN also be
provided." it seems that an administrative password is required.
My installation stops at the first step claiming
BAD
Does administrative user have access to the database? ( Access denied for user 'xxxxxxxx'@'localhost' (using password: YES) )
Only checking the "Print SQL Queries instead of Writing to the Database" box once lead me to a (broken) configuration wherefrom I could
fix it by install/Update database.
Any hints?

I have the same problem as you: I wish to install MANTIS on a mutualized server, and I have no rights of administrations on SQL.
This compulsory condition is totally absurd for the installation! I simply wish to install Mantis on an existing database, I don't see where is the problem! And I don't need an admin account for that!
Is it possible to override this condition?
