No Email notifications

Hello. I just installed Mantis on Debian 5.0. I can log on as administrator and add bugs etc, however, I don't seem to be able to send emails from Mantis. When I add a user and enter an email address I never receive anything.

I already looked through the forum but I really couldn't find anything that would point me in the right direction.
Does anybody have any suggestions ?

I have the same problem. I have read different emails regarding email notifications but it does not work yet. Could you please confirm which line is correct :
$g_phpMailer_method = PHPMAILER_METHOD_SMTP; or $g_phpMailer_method = PHPMAILER_METHOD_SMTP;

Then could you tell me if we must select the file scripts/send_emails.php to run cron jobs.

Otherwise I have settings below but it does not work:

Hi guys,
You need to use phpMailer for sent email. This is the best solution when you are using smtp server.
