Hello ,
I installed mantis about a month ago on WAMP server (includes apache, php, mysql) both latest versions.
After a while i started noticing that i cannot open mantis unless i restart Apache through the WAMP control panel.
Then mantis worked great again for 20-30 minutes and stopped being accessible again . When ever I tried opening the page it showed me the following message:
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I switched my server to XAMP and the problem still there. again, whenever i restarted the Apache server it worked again but stopped after 20-30 minutes.
I don't think it has anything to do with Apache because when mantis doesn't load , i am still able to open XAMP admin page which is also a web page in php .
Does any one have an idea what to do?? please help me , i really do know what the problem is.
Thank you!
Regards,
Dotan

Re: Mantis stops being accessible randomly
How to fix Mantis 1.1.8 to work with PHP 5.3.1?
Re: Mantis stops being accessible randomly
I don't think that there will be anyone who will take the time to have deeper look for this. Development is concentrating on 1.2.
Maybe you should check out a 1.2 version, and if there is the same problem it might be an easy task to backport this to 1.1.x
This is what one of the developers wrote at http://www.mantisbt.org/bugs/view.php?id=11255
1.1.x still needs to be back compatible with PHP4.3, which means that we can't support 5.3. If you absolutely need support for a newer PHP version, then you'll need to use 1.2.
Nethertheless if you need this for 1.1 and are not able to use PHP 5.2, you should enter an issue at the MantisBT bugtracker with as much details as you can.

Thank you guys for your help! I'll try upgrading to 1.2 and I'll post back.
Re: Mantis stops being accessible randomly
what if I'll install an earlier version of xampp? such as 1.6.8 which includes :
# Apache 2.2.9
# MySQL 5.0.67 (Community Server)
# PHP 5.2.6 + PHP 4.4.9 + PEAR
# PHP-Switch win32 1.0 (use "php-switch.bat" in the xampp main directory)
# XAMPP Control Version 2.5 from www.nat32.com
# XAMPP Security 1.0
# SQLite 2.8.15
# OpenSSL 0.9.8i
# phpMyAdmin 2.11.9.2
# ADOdb 4.990
# Mercury Mail Transport System v4.52
# FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.27
# Webalizer 2.01-10
# Zend Optimizer 3.3.0
# eAccelerator 0.9.5.3 für PHP 5.2.6 (but not activated in the php.ini)
This should work , right?

Re: Mantis stops being accessible randomly
I made a short smoke test with MantisBT 1.2 nightly build from yesterday and the lastest version of XAMPP (PHP 5.3.1 included)
No problems occured, but this was just an installation, creating one project, one user, one issue and clicking all pages one time.
Don't know what will happen after some time working with it.
If you want to have a stable combination at the moment, don't upgrade to 1.2, but use your older XAMPP with MantisBT 1.1.8

Re: Mantis stops being accessible randomly
Yeah , It worked well for me at first too . I happens only after about 20 minutes when mantis page is not open but the server is running . Then when i try to access it , it doesn't load.
Well , I guess i'll install xampp 1.6.8 then
Thanks for your help!
