I have found that it is possible to add jpgraph with php5 support within debian lenny is possible from the non stable branch.
jpgraph will be installed in /usr/share/jpgraph
When i add this path in the mantis plugin as path to jpgraph and make a update the path is not shown anymore in the plugin, it seems the posting of the path is ignored and cleared.
i am using the standard gd lib of php5 with mantis 1.2.1 this works, but the graphs are not as sharp as they where with jpgraph and mantis 1.1.x.
Does someone have jpgraph and mantis 1.2.1 working on debian?

Have a look at the settings dialog of the plugineelcodegraaff wrote:but the graphs are not as sharp as they where with jpgraph and mantis 1.1.x.
There is a checkbox "JpGraph anti-aliasing"
Disable the setting and try if there is any change of sharpness
I tried on my Windows testbox, but I could not see any difference

your suggestion does help, it is better.
But if i compare the results with a system using jpgraph it seems to me de layout of the jpgraph results are a bit better. The text is sharper to read.
The Pie graph is quite nice.
