Save Login - Can't Get it to work in some cases

I access two separate Mantis applications, one on an internal network webserver and the other on a hosted domain.

The version running interally is 0.19.1
The version running on the 1.0.0rc1

When I access the Mantis site running on our internal network, cookies work fine, but when I access the "external" site, I am ALWAYS required to supply my login, even after I indicate that I want to "Save Login"

I've tinkered with cookie prefixes and directories, but no change.

Any ideas?
