Public and private attachments

I am using Mantis 1.2.6

I found how to set the permission to allow a user to view all files or none, but I could not find how to define the visibility for each file

I need to define the uploaded files with the same visibility that the bugnotes. That is, I need to define the attached files as public or private, with the same behavior that the bugnotes.

Is this possible?

This is a known feature request which is not yet implemented in standard MantisBT
There are user contributed patches which you can use at your own risk.
